SECRETARY GENERAL

The Secretary General holds the Board Team to account for the Charity’s mission and vision, providing inclusive leadership to the Executive Board and the Board of Trustees, ensuring that each Board member fulfils their duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of the Charity. The GS also supports, and, where appropriate, challenges and ensures that the Executive Board functions as a single unit – leads and works closely with the entire Executive body of the Charity to achieve agreed objectives. He ensures that the Board functions effectively, and the Board members understand their responsibilities, as well as chair the Board/Trustees Committee meetings. He acts as an ambassador and the public face of the Charity; provides overall leadership to the Charity in a manner which maximises the contribution of Trustees and Board members and ensures that all involved remain focused on achieving the Charity’s mission.

 

DEPUTY SECRETARY GENERAL

Works closely with the Secretary General, assists him whenever and wherever is necessary, supporting him in providing direction and leadership, and in ensuring development and implementation of strategies, plans and policies. Assumes the responsibilities of Secretary General when Secretary General is not present.

 

HEAD OF EQUALITY

Manages the team responsible for ensuring equality in all of the Charity’s activities. Promotes inclusiveness and fair treatment of all members, partners and beneficiaries.  Promotes participation of women in the Charity.  

 

HEAD OF FINANCE

Manages the team that acts as an information and reference point for the Secretary General and other committee members: clarifying financial implications of proposals, confirming legal requirements, outlining the current financial status, and retrieving relevant documentation. Making sure suitable accounting systems are in place and responsible for ensuring that effective financial systems and procedures have been established, are being consistently followed and are in line with best practice and legal requirements.

 

HAED OF ADMIN

Manages the team responsible for day to day admin side of things, such as ensuring back-up information is available at meetings where required, keeping written records of Board/Trustees meetings (minutes), storing and distributing the minutes, dealing with correspondence on behalf of the Charity, preparing (with the Secretary General) an agenda and distributing it prior to meetings, coordinating and maintaining records for volunteers, updating members’ database, ensuring the effective and efficient administration of the organisation.

 

HEAD OF FUNDRAISING

Manages the team responsible for developing strategies and setting goals to hit fundraising targets, overseeing fundraising events and campaigns, looking for additional sources of funding and completing funding applications, keeping in touch with existing donors and seeking new donors.

 

BOARD COORDINATOR  

Manages the team responsible for coordinating different activities of the Board, ensuring cohesion among Board members and work closely with SG to ensure that the Board fulfil its duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of the Charity. Addresses and resolves any disagreements within the Board.

 

HEAD OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Manages the team responsible for developing, a definition of the project in conjunction with the Project Sponsor. The Project Management team ensures that the project is delivered on time and on budget to the required quality standard (within agreed specifications). The team ensures the project is effectively resourced and manages relationships with a wide range of groups, including all project contributors. The Project Management team is also responsible for managing the work of consultants, allocating and utilising resources in an efficient manner and maintaining a co-operative, motivated and successful framework.  

 

HEAD OF COMMUNICATION

Manages the team responsible for the overall PR of the organisation. In charge of the Charity’s communication with different target audiences, including donors, journalists, beneficiaries and communities. Advises other Board members, volunteers and managers on communication tasks, and uses written and verbal skills to create a wide range of corporate communication materials. Manages and maintains website and social media content. Ensures that messaging groups run properly and reflect the objectives of the Charity. Outlines and approves the programme of the Charity’s radio and appoints presenters. By communicating effectively with their target audience, he helps build a positive reputation for the Charity. Works closely with the fundraising team to support them with content they need in support of application for funds.

 

HEAD OF MEMBERSHIP & VOLUNTEER COORDINATION TEAM

Manages the team responsible for recruiting new members and volunteers. Works closely with local communities and the general public to increase new membership sign ups. Maintains close relationship with existing members and volunteers to make sure that they are happy and engaged with the Charity. Creates recruitment strategy of new members and set mid and long term targets for membership sign ups.

 

HEAD OF HUMAN RIGHTS

Manages the team responsible for promoting human rights values, issuing reports on human rights violations. Creating partnership with relevant institutions and organisations in fight against human rights violation. Support victims of human rights violation in their legal battle and forward proposals of protection of human rights to relevant authorities.

 

HEAD OF AUDIT

Manages the team responsible for reviewing the accounts of the Charity to ensure the validity and legality of its financial records. Acts in an advisory role to recommend possible risk aversion measures and cost savings that could be made. Auditors examine the money going in and out of the Charity and make sure it is recorded and processed correctly.

 

HEAD OF YOUTH COORDINATION

Manages the team responsible for coordinating youth related activities, such as football tournaments, fun activities. He promotes youth

engagement with the charity and works closely with our youth centres to help them with learning programmes and job application training.

 

HEAD OF COUNCIL OF ADVISERS

Manages the team responsible for promoting cohesion among Board members, resolving issues between Board members. Upon Secretary General’s request, resolve issues among Board members. Advise on good practises for maintaining harmony among Board members.
